Sick as I am of roller skiing, what really hurts is canceling the Ski Orienteering Season Opener at Lapland Lake on December 20. But there is no choice. Despite the cold front that came though last night the temperatures will stay above freezing even under the magic Lapland Lake “bubble” until next Saturday when the high temperature for the day will finally be a seasonable 32 degrees.
What are chances that we could block off the suburban roads in southern Clifton Park for a roller ski orienteering meet on Bill Jameson’s map? Lest someone thinks I am being even half serious, it would not be practical or prudent.
