I skied in the rest of the controls yesterday including for a RED course. Ski conditions have dramatically changed in the last two weeks. The snow has more moisture and is well machined by the BIG machine. I used my skate skis yesterday, because conditions were favorable. The snowshoe trails were tracked in, but some of the cut offs are not consistently skied in. I still would not use my best skis, because bushwhacking and following a historic trail will at times be a legitimate route choice. Our event on Saturday, December 31 will be using mechanical punches and the red course will have a map swap. Registration will be between 10 AM and noon. All other information has not changed although I may move up the recommended classes, because ski conditions are so idyllic.
