It’s with deep regret that we’ve made the decision to postpone the 2 ski-o events scheduled for this weekend, Feb. 9-10. We’ve experienced wildly fluctuating temperatures here in the Lake Placid area this week, and trails at Dewey and the VIC are mostly down to a bare ice base, leaving nothing for the grooming machines to till up. Conditions are icy and treacherous, both on and off the trails. We are very disappointed and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Of the 5 ski-o events David and I have planned for Lake Placid this winter we’ve had to reschedule or outright cancel 4 of them, so it seems this is becoming the norm.
There are still several weeks of winter left here; we’ll be keeping a close eye on the weather forecast and plan to reschedule these 2 events as soon as the conditions are more favourable, so stay tuned!
