There’s still time to register for the ESG Ski-O events this weekend! Saturday’s race will be held at Dewey Mt. in Saranac Lake with check-in at 11 am, first start at 12:30. There will be 4 courses available: Introductory (1. 4 km), Short (2.4 km), Medium (3.9 km) and Long (5.3 km). Don’t let the relatively short distances fool you – there are lots of intersections and route choices must be made quickly, especially on the downhills!
Sunday’s event will be at Paul Smith’s VIC with check-in at 10 am and first start at 11:30 am. Courses will be longer in order to take advantage of the great conditions & terrain. The Short will be 3-4 km, Medium approx. 6 km, Long 10.8 km.
Age classes assigned as follows:
F, M U13 Short
F, M U19 Medium
F, M 19-34 – Long
F35-49 – Medium
M35-49 – Long
F, M 50-64 – Medium
F, M 65+ – Short
If you want a longer race than the age class you registered for online, please let us know asap (email jfindlay@roadrunner.com). We’ll also take day of race changes. Athletes competing in a different age class each day are eligible for medals providing they meet the age class eligibility (ie a Female 50-64 athlete is eligible for the 19-34 age class but not the 65+ class).
Athletes are free to race whatever course they choose but will be eligible for medals only if they meet age class eligibility (see above).
Registration is open until midnight on Wednesday, Jan. 29. Course notes will be posted here later this week. Conditions are great and according to weather forecasts will be with us through the weekend, so come on up and enjoy a great weekend of ski-o racing!
