Ski-o enthusiasts participated in two great events as part of the Empire State Winter Games over the past weekend. Scratchy conditions plus the inclusion of snowshoe trails resulted in a very challenging event on Saturday at Dewey Mt. While there were a couple of cases of broken equipment there were no injuries and racers had high praise for the groomers who made the course so skiable. Sunday’s courses at Paul Smith’s VIC featured much more snow and longer distances. It was most competitors’ first visit to the VIC and they had high praise for the facility and the trails Many thanks to facility managers, groomers, mappers, course setters, timers and everybody who helped pick up controls.
Results for both days are at https://www.attackpoint.org/eventdetail.jsp/event_47341
You can see a good selection of photos from Sunday, courtesy of Eddie Boyer of the VIC, at https://drive.google.com/open?id=1X0vOALB4yTBClfxJZIYIis8gg9W3xpLk.
Don’t forget the mini Snowgaine coming up the Sunday, Feb. 9 – details will be posted soon!
