Conditions could not have been better for Saturday’s NYSSRA Ski-O Championship event at Mt. van Hoevenberg with mild temperatures, fast tracks and great snow cover throughout. Organizers David Hunter & Janet Findlay came up with a novel format that involved a mass start, numerous map exchanges and a finish at Josie’s Cabin while head groomer Mike Battisti ensured that the trails were immaculately groomed.
