The ESG event is coming up on Feb 7th and 8th in the Lake Placid area. Pre-registration is strongly recommended. Here are the latest notes from Phil concerning Saturday’s event at Partridge Run EMPO Members- As previously noted, the EMPO Ski & Snowshoe – O (mini-snowgaine) will be held this coming Saturday (Jan 24), regardless of the weather. Thanks to Aims Coney for running the New Year’s day event at Garnet Hill. Results are available on the results tab. I would like to clarify some questions about the Empire State Games Events. The Try-It event attracted 54 individuals to 3 different courses on the trails at Mt. Van Hoevenberg this past Sunday. This event catered to people who were interested to try some Ski-O as individuals or in groups. Hopefully some of them will want to continue and enter some of the events this season. A try-it event for first timers and all interested parties will take place at Mt. Van Hoevenberg on Sunday December 28th. Yes, they have snow! Conditions are wet with some thin spots but it is one of the only places to ski in the state at this point. Those interested can meet at the Stadium (read more)
Get ready! The first event of the season will be held at the Lapland Lake Ski Center on Dec. 21. Starting times are from 11am to 1pm. The entry fee of $20 includes your trail pass. Eric Hamilton will be setting the course. We hope to see you there.
