Due to extreme weather conditions, ROC’s Webster Park event has been rescheduled from Feb 15 to Feb 22, with registration and starts at Holt Lodge.

As part of Winterfest at Mendon Ponds Park, ROC will sponsor an orienteering event, starting at Hopkins Point Lodge (enter the park via the northern entrance; middle one is closed.) From Aims Coney: Garnet Hill inspection successful. The Garnet Hill ski-o could be held with existing snow. There is nothing in the forecast to make conditions worse, so it is a good bet the meet will happen as scheduled.

From Aims Coney: Garnet reports 15K open. A course committee inspection today will reveal whether a qualifier-worthy course can be devised. Lapland Lake 12/21/14 – Update
From Eric Hamilton – Conditions at Lapland Lake are marginal, but we are going ahead with Sunday’s Ski Orienteering. As they report on their web site, “There are occasional thin, bare and water spots and older skis are recommended.” I recommended rock skis and the weather conditions and route choices might favor no wax skis.
