The ESG event is coming up on Feb 7th and 8th in the Lake Placid area. Pre-registration is strongly recommended. Update – Partridge Run
Here are the latest notes from Phil concerning Saturday’s event at Partridge Run EMPO Members- As previously noted, the EMPO Ski & Snowshoe – O (mini-snowgaine) will be held this coming Saturday (Jan 24), regardless of the weather. UPDATE – Mendon Ponds 1/18/15
As part of Winterfest at Mendon Ponds Park, ROC will sponsor an orienteering event, starting at Hopkins Point Lodge (enter the park via the northern entrance; middle one is closed.) Mendon Ponds Winterfest Ski-O on January 18 at Hopkins Point Lodge. Registration open at 11:00am. Start from 11:30am to 2:00pm and courses close at 3:30pm. Thanks to Aims Coney for running the New Year’s day event at Garnet Hill. Results are available on the results tab. I would like to clarify some questions about the Empire State Games Events. Try-It at Van Hoevenberg a huge success
The Try-It event attracted 54 individuals to 3 different courses on the trails at Mt. Van Hoevenberg this past Sunday. This event catered to people who were interested to try some Ski-O as individuals or in groups. Hopefully some of them will want to continue and enter some of the events this season. Garnet Hill 1/1/15 – Update
From Aims Coney: Garnet Hill inspection successful. The Garnet Hill ski-o could be held with existing snow. There is nothing in the forecast to make conditions worse, so it is a good bet the meet will happen as scheduled.

From Aims Coney: Garnet reports 15K open. A course committee inspection today will reveal whether a qualifier-worthy course can be devised. Definite cancelation will be announced immediately but the final call may be Wednesday evening when more snow is possible. Please keep the event on your calendar.
