A try-it event for first timers and all interested parties will take place at Mt. Van Hoevenberg on Sunday December 28th. Yes, they have snow! Lapland Lake 12/21/14 – Update
From Eric Hamilton – Conditions at Lapland Lake are marginal, but we are going ahead with Sunday’s Ski Orienteering. As they report on their web site, “There are occasional thin, bare and water spots and older skis are recommended.” I recommended rock skis and the weather conditions and route choices might favor no wax skis. Lapland Lake 12/21/14 – Meet Notes
From Eric Hamilton — I skied in most of the controls today [12/16] for Sunday’s meet. I found conditions good. The snow was fast in the morning and became slower as the air temperatures warmed into the upper 30s. There were some easily avoided rocks and wet spots. Opening Ski-O at Lapland Lake
Get ready! The first event of the season will be held at the Lapland Lake Ski Center on Dec. 21. Starting times are from 11am to 1pm. The entry fee of $20 includes your trail pass. Eric Hamilton will be setting the course. We hope to see you there.
