ESWG ski-o has been rescheduled for Feb 17-18. Feb 17: Dewey Mountain, Saranac Lake, first starts 11am Feb 18: Mt Van Hoevenberg, Lake Placid, first starts TBD There will likely be three courses, beginner, short advanced, and long advanced. The Empire State Games Ski-O competition has been rescheduled to Feb. 17-18. Saturday’s race will be at Dewey Mt. in Saranac Lake; Sunday’s will be at Mt. van Hoevenberg. Due to deteriorating trail conditions, the ESG event will not occur this weekend (2/3-2/4). There is a possibility that it may be rescheduled at a later date. Stay tuned and hope for snow.
There is still reasonable snow cover in the Lake Placid area so barring a totally unforeseen swing in the weather, we’re confident that the ski-o events at the Empire State Games next weekend will go ahead as scheduled. The warm weather and rain is quickly taking out the snow so there is unfortunately little choice but to cancel Saturday’s ski-o at Mendon Ponds.

Update from the course setter, Phil Hawkes-Teeter: Well, today’s snow is winding down, but it has already significantly upgraded the skiing conditions in and around Partridge Run, the site for EMPO’s next Winter event, on Jan 13.
